How a wet-area gets sealed
From bare sheet to a membrane that holds
Waterproofing is hidden the moment the tiler arrives. Here is what happens underneath, on a real Brisbane job, before anyone ever sees the finished room.

Prep the substrate
Sheeting, screed and joints checked and prepped. If the base is not sound, no membrane will save it, so this is where we start.

Bond breakers & corners
The spots that fail first are corners, junctions and the floor-to-wall joint. They get sealed properly before anything else.

Build the membrane
Coats go on in the right order and the right thickness, walls and floor, so the whole wet-area works as one sealed skin.

Ready for tiles
Once it has cured we hand it over watertight. The tiler tiles, and the part that protects your home disappears for good.
Get this layer wrong and you do not find out for years, usually when the framing is already rotting. Get it right and you never think about it again. That is the whole job.
